Who is she?
Virtuoso concert pianist Ling Ling Chen has performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout Australia and the world. She received her Master’s of Music at the Manhattan School of Music on scholarship graduating Summa Cum Laude and was the only pianist accepted to Olga Kern’s prestigious studio of ‘18. Ling Ling has gone on to perform and collaborate with world renowned musicians including Eric Silberger, Marco Van Pagee, Josephine Louise Vains, Zoë Black, Mike Perdue, Jude Trexler and Duncan Patton among others. Ling Ling has also had numerous opportunities performing in masterclasses with leading pianists such as Tamas Ungar, Christopher Elton and Robert McDonald.
Performances and recital engagements have brought her all over Australia, Europe, Asia and USA at the World Trade Center’s Oculus, St Johns Church in the Village, BMW Edge, Lincoln Center, Melba Hall, Verbrugghen Hall, Melbourne Recital Centre, St Johns Southgate, ABC Iwaki Auditorium, Griffith Theatre, Ettlingen Schloss, He Luting Hall, Costa Hall and many more. Among local television appearances in Melbourne for concert engagements, she has also been featured on 2MBS and 3MBS radio.
8 time scholarship recipient, Ling Ling is additionally an international laureate. She is a prize winner of the John Allison National Piano Competition and New York International Piano Competition, gold medalist of the International Youth Arts Piano Festival, recipient of the National Premier Awards, an AMF finalist and competitor at the esteemed Ettlingen, Keri Keri and Lev Vlassenko International Piano Competitions. Being an avid chamber enthusiast, she has also partnered with non profit Ballet Australasia to record a series of backing track CD releases with 100% of proceeds donated to the Australian Ballet. Passionate about the ever changing music scene, Ling Ling has had the pleasure to work with names such as Hans Zimmer, Billy Joel and John Malkovich as investors in the Music Tech venture space.
Today, she is focused on teaching, educating artists on their brand and business, as well as collaborating with like minded talents on meaningful programmatic projects.
